We are launching a Dahlonega Directory site that will basically operate as an advertising cooperative to further improve tourism into North Georgia and more specifically Dahlonega proper. I hope to begin soliciting business for membership in the co-op by January 1st of 2009. By then we should have the website re-designed and ready for launch. We have just registered advertising with four major search engines on a pay-per-click basis to get started in local search results.

We additionally plan to run ads in the major local area newspapers with a simple catchy highway sign theme. Additionally we are looking into local radio advertising plans and costs. We hope to purchase a vehicle wrap to further promote the website and our fair city.

We would also like to provide window decals to the local square businesses to feature that they are located in the directory which will further spur interest by not only visitors but locals as well. We want to additionally create a VIP Coupon Book for registered visitors that will allow them special deals at local businesses by simply printing the Map/Coupon Book. More to come on that.
