First Day Out - Great Results!
This is my site Written by Phillip on December 16, 2008 – 10:14 pm

This afternoon I took 25 rack cards and headed out into downtown Dahlonega to begin promoting the directory. Overall the welcome was warm and business owners seemed interested in the new directory. Some businesses even agreed to put the dahlonega411.com window stickers on their storefronts. Giving free listings was no doubt a help. I really appreciate that as this will help increase our exposure and everyone will benefit.

As of today there are 20 new listings in the directory. 20 out of 25 isn’t bad at all. Hopefully the other 5 will have a chance to review this website and see that we are indeed trying to build a directory of businesses for both visitors and residents. If you haven’t registered your business or I haven’t stopped by please do not hesitate to give me a call. Phillip @ 678-920-0681

If you would like to join the marketing co-op and upgrade your free listing to a membership please let me know. The more members that we can get on board the more marketing of the main directory we can do which will result in higher visitation. I did sit and talk with the Dahlonega Nugget today about some advertising rates. It looks like it would run about $100 per month for a 2×2 add weekly promoting the directory. This will probably be the first place I start for non-Internet advertising.

I hope to be out in the square tomorrow and the remainder of the week contacting more businesses. I will also be filling out my membership form for the Chamber of Commerce. Yes I know that many businesses are already listed on the Chamber’s website; however, if you had two links to your business it surely wouldn’t hurt. After all if you could advertise in two newspapers that would be better than just one, right?

Until tomorrow Dahlonega I bid you a goodnight.
