Does anyone still celebrate May Day? Do you remember how it goes. Get some flowers for someone you are thinking about. Set them on their doorstep first thing in the morning and knock on their door or ring their doorbell. As a special extra you can include a card with the flowers where you invite that person to Dahlonega to attend one of May's special events. Here is a list of May's events:

Mountain Flower Arts Festival
Public Square, Dahlonega • MAP IT! • 706-892-9741 Mountain Flower Art Festival is the third weekend in May. (16th & 17th) It features juried original fine art and fine craft of regional artists. The festival is located on the historic square of Dahlonega, and also celebrates the local and area mountain wildflowers. The Dahlonega Master Gardeners also will be holding their annual plant sale, along with a wildflower display and Garden Expo with workshops. |

Dahlonega Farmers Market
Hancock Park, Dahlonega • MAP IT! • 706-864-6133 The Dahlonega Farmer's Market is opening May 1st. It will be open every Saturday and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until October 30th at Hancock Park in downtown Dahlonega. Not only will you find locally grown fruits and vegetables but you can find some sweet and savory jams, jellies and other home-made items that will be for sale. |
