Saturday October 31, 2009 Join NOA and the Dahlonega - Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce at Hancock Park in Historic Dahlonega for the 4th Annual Chili Halloween Cook-off. The event runs from 11 am until 2 pm. Cooks are welcome to arrive at 10 am to set up their table. Cook’s entry fee is only $25. The Open Class is available for individual or non-restaurant teams and the Professional Class is open to professional chefs and/or restaurant teams. Rain or Shine. Awards and braggin’ rights for will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams in the open class, a prize and braggin’ rights for “Dahlonega’s Best Chili” will be presented to the winner of the professional class. There will also be a special prize for the best decorated table.

All proceeds benefit victims of domestic violence.
Contest Rules and Regulations:
* Each contestant should include 4 gallons of chili with appropriate toppings. Please bring all needed containers and serving spoons.
* The chili must be homemade and should be cooked before arriving at the event.
* All chili must be stored at appropriate temperatures and re-heated at the event. All contestants are encouraged to keep chili at a serving temperature of 140 degrees and to keep covered when not serving.
* All ingredients must be stored in sanitary containers at all times
* Anyone handling food must wear sanitary gloves. Gloves will be provided.
* Each contestant should bring a heat source to keep chili warm. Please be aware heating sources such as camping stoves and sterno heaters can be flammable.
* Hand sanitizer will be provided.
* Please make your table festive, feel free to decorate.
* No alcohol is allowed on site.
* Entry deadline is October 23, 2009 at Noon.
* Tables, tasting cups, spoons, gloves, fire extinguishers, and advertisement will be provided.
The NOA Chili Cook-Off is not sanctioned. NOA, The Dahlonega - Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce, and their respective Boards of Directors will not be responsible for damages, injuries, etc. resulting from participation. The cook-off is for cooks looking to have fun and be recognized for their chili!
